The parallel escalator is one of the most used in the industry. You will see them in all kind of surroundings from a hospital to a shopping mall. The simple definition of this escalator is two escalators next to each other or a small distance apart . The one is going upward and the other is going down wards. The multiple parallel escalators is very similar to the normal parallel type but it differs in that there is more escalators next to each other. There can be three or four on both sides. The clever thing is that these escalators can change direction. This is useful for when there is more people going the one way and the traffic of people can be reduced.
